Instructions for using your Cuddlebugg Sling
Step 1: Preparing the Sling
Hold the ring end of the sling in your right hand. Take the other end in your left hand, thread this end through both rings and over the first ring and under the other ring. This will allow you adjust the sling but keep your baby secure at the same time.
Step 2: Putting On the Sling
First make sure that the fabric is not twisted. If you are wearing the sling and find it more uncomfortable than usual it is probably because the fabric is twisted in the back.
Put your left arm through the sling and let the sling hang across your body resting on the right shoulder ( you can of course reverse the directions and wear the sling on the left shoulder.)
Keep the rings in front of your shoulder. Spread the fabric over your shoulder, this will make the sling more comfortable. Pull the tail until the bulk of the sling is at about waist level. Adjust the sling to form a “pocket” or “seat” in which to hold the baby by pulling the edges of the sling.
Step 3: Adding the Baby
Pull the sling away from your body and slide the baby into the sling in the desired position. Once the baby is in position, support the baby's weight while you tighten the sling by pulling one or both of the edges of the sling at the tail or the pull the entire tail.
Always hold on to your baby until you are sure she is secure. When you are trying a new position you may want to have someone help you.
Step 4: Releasing the Baby
To release the sling simply pull up on the top ring with your arm loosely around the baby. The weight of the baby will loosen the sling. If you have tucked the tail into the sling to get it out of the way you will need to untuck it before loosening or you may think you are “stuck!”
If your little one has fallen asleep in the sling and you want to stop wearing her and not wake her you can bend over while holding the baby, loosen the sling and slide out of it while baby stays inside. You can easily transfer the baby to the carseat, stroller or bed in this manner. When you want to wear baby again just slide back inside the sling and tighten. You can also use this method to transfer baby and sling to another adult.
